From ABC News:  Democrats are hoping that the memory of Sen. Ted Kennedy will revive the Democratic Party's flagging push for health care reform.  President Obama's senior advisor remembers the "Lion of the Senate."  "You've heard of 'win one for the Gipper'? There is going to be an atmosphere of 'win one for Teddy,'" Ralph G. Neas, the CEO of the liberal National Coalition on Health Care, told ABC News.

When Dems start quoting Ronald Reagan's movie lines, you know they're in trouble.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- The females of the first family made the list of the 1,000 most popular baby names, says a new report, but the president did not.  Michelle, the first lady's name, and those of her daughters, Sasha and Malia, appeared on the list released Wednesday by the Social Security Administration, The New York Times reports.  Sasha, at 353rd, hasn't changed much in rank in the past few years. Malia jumped to 345th most popular baby name last year from 400th in 2007, while Michelle dropped from 94th to 103rd...Jayden skipped from 75 to 11 after Britney Spears used it.

Great comment on our popular culture.  Britney Spears?

LONDON, Equatorial Guinea, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A British telecommunications company has hired reformed pickpockets to work as "put pockets," slipping money into pockets and handbags in a marketing campaign.  The company, Talk Talk, plans to post signs where the ex-pickpockets are at work in London that will say "Rejoice! Put pockets operating in this area," CNN reports.

Yeah, but what if the "reformed" pickpockets get the old urge?  I'd avoid those areas.

(AP) It's 9 1/2 feet wide and 42 feet long and is billed as the narrowest house in New York City. But there's nothing small about its asking price: $2.7 million.  Located at 75 1/2 Bedford St. in Greenwich Village, the red brick building was built in 1873, sandwiched between 75 and 77 Bedford.

This is New York.  Someone will buy it for that price, and then install a bowling alley.
